FPTA Walkers meet each Tuesday at the Shattuck Grove Tennis Courts in Franklin Park to take a weekly stroll around the park. The route of the walk will change to expose walkers to different areas of the park and are designed to improve our health, build endurance and have fun. The weekly walks will run from April 1st to June 24th from 6 – 7 pm.
Our walk leaders, Kate King and Dawn Morse, have these thoughts to share:
We’ve been having a wonderful time walking around the Park, getting to know each other better while we enjoy this great spring weather.  Clear evenings so far! Good exercise for both fast walkers and those who prefer to be more leisurely. Come and join us!
– Kate King
What a great turn out for our second meeting of the FPTA Walkers! Â We had more than 20 people show up to begin their fitness routine for improving their health and lifestyle. Â Each participant was given a reflective armband and an FPTA Lanyard. Â We started as a group and after about 3 minutes of walking we stopped and did a 3 minute stretch which everyone enjoyed. Â We continued to walk some at a faster pace than others and met back at the end for some additional stretching. Â All along the way people go back and forth meeting new people, talking to others and catching up with friends. We had a lot of fun! Â We finished with water and clementines.

The NeighborWalk program, a program of the Boston Public Health Commission, encourages Boston residents of all ages to be physically active by providing support for organized walking groups. To find other walking groups in your area, click here.Â
So, you are not an artist? Neither were we before we tried paint night with FPTA! The artist, Lucilda Dassardo-Cooper, took us through each stage of the painting until we had a complete rendition of the original artwork. Each of our paintings were unique and showed our own perspective and talent.
Our next Paint Night will be announced soon and we do hope you will give it a try! If you would like to be added to the list, just send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will make sure to contact you.
